TODAY’S GOSPEL READING
30 APRIL, 2025
John 3:16-21
God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son,
so that everyone who believes in him might not perish
but might have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world,
but that the world might be saved through him.
Whoever believes in him will not be condemned,
but whoever does not believe has already been condemned,
because he has not believed in the name of the only-begotten Son of God.
And this is the verdict,
that the light came into the world,
but people preferred darkness to light,
because their works were evil.
For everyone who does wicked things hates the light
and does not come toward the light,
so that his works might not be exposed.
But whoever lives the truth comes to the light,
so that his works may be clearly seen as done in God.
THE GOSPEL OF THE LORD!
REFLECTION
John 3:16-21 is one of the most powerful passages in Scripture, beginning with the profound truth: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son…” This love is not distant or abstract—it’s deeply personal, sacrificial, and redemptive. God’s intention is not to condemn us, but to save us through Jesus Christ. The light has come into the world, but many resist it because they fear exposure. Yet, the invitation remains: come into the light, not to be shamed, but to be healed.
This passage reminds us that God’s love offers both salvation and transformation. When we live in truth and walk in the light, our deeds reflect God’s work in us. It’s a call to faith that leads to action—choosing light over darkness, and hope over fear.
Heavenly Father, thank You for loving the world so deeply that You gave Your only Son, so that we may have eternal life through Him. Help us to truly believe, not only with our words but with our hearts and actions. Shine Your light into every corner of our lives—exposing what needs healing, correcting, or surrendering. Give us courage to step out of the shadows and walk boldly in Your truth.
Help us reflect Your love to others, just as Christ has shown love to us. May we live as people of the light, bringing hope, grace, and truth wherever we go.
In Jesus’ Name. Amen
