TODAY’S GOSPEL READING
7 MAY, 2025
John 6:35-40

Jesus said to the crowds,
“I am the bread of life;
whoever comes to me will never hunger,
and whoever believes in me will never thirst.
But I told you that although you have seen me,
you do not believe.
Everything that the Father gives me will come to me,
and I will not reject anyone who comes to me,
because I came down from heaven not to do my own will
but the will of the one who sent me.
And this is the will of the one who sent me,
that I should not lose anything of what he gave me,
but that I should raise it on the last day.
For this is the will of my Father,
that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him
may have eternal life,
and I shall raise him on the last day.”

THE GOSPEL OF THE LORD!

REFLECTION

In this passage, Jesus reveals Himself as the Bread of Life, promising eternal fulfillment to those who come to Him in faith. He assures us that whoever believes in Him will never hunger or thirst. This is not about physical sustenance but a deep, spiritual nourishment that only Christ can provide. Jesus expresses the will of the Father—that none who are given to Him will be lost, and all will be raised up on the last day. This promise invites us into a relationship of trust, where we are called to believe, rest, and remain in Him. In a world full of uncertainty, Jesus offers eternal security and the hope of resurrection.

PRAYER

Lord Jesus, Bread of Life,
You alone satisfy the deepest hunger of my soul.
Help me to come to You daily with faith and humility.
Keep me close, that I may never be lost,
but remain in the embrace of Your mercy.
Strengthen my belief in Your promise of eternal life,
and raise me up on the last day according to Your will.
Amen
