2 Corinthians 9:6

4 January, 2022

Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. – 2 Corinthians 9:6

Abba Father, from the very beginning of creation, you have shown your Might and Power, your Glory and Majesty, by blessing your faithful in plenty and giving generously of your grace, mercy and compassion to those who are humble and who follow your Holy Will. You have exhorted us to be charitable and helpful, sowing the seed of virtue and love, to reap rich benefits of our harvest. To help our brethren who are in need of material and spiritual care and comfort.

Assist us in fervent practice of our faith, planting the seed of your gospel of Truth, so as to increase the bounty of your blessings among people, and winning souls for the sake of your glory. Jesus had preached that the harvest is plentiful but the labourers few and had told us to pray for an increase in workers evangelizing and deepening faith among those who are yet to receive the good news of your Holy Word and the richness of your love and promises. You reward the hard labor of those who seek and work towards the Salvation of souls.

Lead us on the right path and through the Power of your Holy Spirit, help us to fearlessly give testimony of your faithfulness and righteousness, dear God, to enable us to ensure the spreading of your Holy Word by the courageous witness of our faith. May we work for the glory of your Name and give generously to those in need, for generosity begets greater generosity, while thrift begets a greedy and mean, covetous spirit. We pray that you multiply the manifold benefits you bestow on all who proclaim the truth of our Living God, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
