But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells. 2 Peter 3:13
Abba Father, you are our Refuge, our Sanctuary, the God of everlasting Promises. We trust and place our hopes in your Promises. Jesus, your Son, has accomplished that for which you sent him and has saved and redeemed us, set us free, imbibed within us your Holy doctrines and your New Covenant and has exhorted us to attain purity, sanctity and an unshakable faith, so that we may enjoy our true inheritance in your eternal Kingdom.
Those whose sins are pardoned are those who have made retribution for their offences and gained peace and deliverance from you, our Father. But the conniving of the devil never ceases and he targets men of weak impulses, addicted to unholiness and who are easy prey. Thus polluting and distorting your creation by their heresies and blasphemy and putting the world into disorder and decay.
Only the righteous and the diligent will be reconciled with you God, and we seek you in holy places, begging for forgiveness so that we may belong to the multitude of the just citizens of heaven. Teach us Lord, to lead virtuous lives, to earn your favor and grace. May we get rid of dissension among ourselves, procrastination in changing our way of living, always in readiness Lord, for you, who have as yet delayed your coming.
Proud, and arrogant men, seek to corrupt the proper use of your doctrines into a seeming and convenient agreement with their wicked ways. We pray that we remain strong in the Scriptures, disclaiming all that is false and abhorrent and practising steadfastness to your Holy Word, growing in faith, grace and knowledge to be inheritors of the durable and perfect new and everlasting abodes which will be displayed to our enraptured eyes, where we can dwell in perennial righteousness, holiness and delight of our Lord forevermore. Amen
