Ephesians 3: 14-17

2 January, 2022

With this in mind, then, I kneel in prayer to the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth takes its name, that out of the treasures of his glory he may grant you strength and power through his Spirit in your inner being, that through faith Christ may dwell in your hearts in love. Ephesians 3:14–17

God, our Heavenly Father, Ruler of the world, we kneel before you with the greatest reverence of your Holy Name. And we give you thanks, for choosing us as your children, to bear your name, in Christ Jesus the Lord. You dispense your grace freely, to all who believe and have faith in our Savior Jesus and it is in Jesus’ Name that we beseech you to bestow your blessings upon us.

You have delivered us from perdition and great transgressions, neither judging nor inflicting punishment by the number or nature of our iniquities. Teach us Father, to know your will and obediently fulfill all the statutes, commands and doctrines of your new covenant with us. Lord, you gave us your only Son to suffer and die for our sins, as a ransom for our freedom from darkness, to dwell in the light of your Power, and Jesus fulfilled this Messianic plan and demonstrated the power of your love.

You are the source of our strength, through your indwelling Spirit within us, leading, guiding, instructing and healing. Lord, in your mercy and compassion, in your unending goodness and kindness, in your own inscrutable way, bless us all this year, cure the earth of the pandemic which still prevails and free us from this present evil, which has distanced us from receiving the blessings of the Holy Eucharist. By our faith, we trust in your loving mercy, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
