EPHESIANS 4:32

17 December, 2021

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
Ephesians 4:32

Lord of Goodness and Kindness, you are the embodiment of Love and Mercy, for although we sinned and were rebellious in following your commandments, you showed the perfection of your Being, in the infallibility of your attributes, which you want us to emulate, for it to reflect your unblemished Glory in the forming of your creation. Jesus has given us your covenant of love and we strive towards amiable and affable relationships in our dealings and conversation with others.

We live in a bitter world, filled with animosity, hatred, revenge, and lack of love and understanding. We need to address and resolve these issues in the way Jesus taught us. To be quick to forgive, tender-hearted; merciful, and readily moved to compassion, to reform the minds and spirits of our adversaries by thwarting their wicked and evil plots and plans, with forbearance and mercy.

Lord God, for Christ’s sake, and in his Name, you have forgiven us. Likewise, we need to let go of petty grudges and be placable, and ready to forgive, therein resembling you, our most Powerful God, who for Christ’s sake has forgiven us the worst sins and trespasses. We know that your Power can destroy the likes of us, a betraying, callous and rebellious brood. Yet, you have not only forgiven us, but have also adopted us to sonship, and we forgive and seek your forgiveness, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
