Hosea 6:6

19 April, 2021

For it is loyalty that I desire, not sacrifice, and knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings. Hosea 6:6

Lord God, of invincible Power, you are our great and Mighty, Omnipresent God, and yet, you love us with a steadfast, gentle, merciful love, embracing saints and sinners, rich and poor. Your love makes no discrimination between Jew or Gentile, nations, race, caste and color. It calls out and reaches out to the weary and downtrodden, the burdened and the suffering. You Lord, are a Righteous God, and look upon your creation with grace.

All you desire of us Lord, is zealous  fervor instead of the meaningless and mechanical routine of rituals and chants which are rendered in adherence to rules and regulations. Our adoration of you and our obedience in following your Holy Word, in abiding with your Holy Will at all times, our ardor in praising and worshipping, thanking and honoring you in times of plenty and times of trouble are the only ways which gain your favor. You treasure genuine and sincere behavior and attitudes that harbor humility, over empty hypocrisy.

We love you, Heavenly Father, with all our hearts, minds and senses, knowing that you long for truth in our inner beings and deep comprehension of our loving Father, who desires that his people serve him with faithfulness and obedience as against futile repetition of prayers and shallow and superficial observances of feasting and fasts and religious ordinances. We seek repentance for all sacrilegious behavior and frigid, vain sacrifices. We devote ourselves to a deeper communion with you, Father, by a Christlike, spiritual transformation, in the Holy Name of Jesus our Lord. Amen
