Isaiah 50: 4

16 December, 2020

The Sovereign Lord has given me a well-instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being instructed. Isaiah 50:4

Lord of the universe, our stronghold and sanctuary, our refuge and strength, we awaken thankful for another day, and the wondrous sights, sounds and fragrances tell us of you, our Creator, inspiring us to walk in your ways. The Lord Jesus, who dwelt amongst us and not only revealed your abounding mercy and justice, but also restored us to you through your new covenant with us, offering his life for our iniquities and bestowing upon us your grace of eternal salvation, instructed us in the truth of your doctrines.

He had the eminent benefit, through divine intervention to discourse and instruct us in the word with unmatched eloquence. His preaching, instructing, narrating, admonishing, strengthened us in our relationship with you and sustained, comforted, enriched, assured and counseled his followers.

He alleviated those who were heavy laden with sin and comforted those who were burdened with calamities and trials. Jesus’ ministry was to awaken the minds of his people and uplift them with the teachings received through divine communications with you Father, and we were instructed and inclined to receive all that he imparted.

As followers of Christ, he has taught us to be attentive to your holy divination and to profess our faith and belief, fearlessly testifying and bearing witness to our living God. He entrusted to us the authority and power to instruct our fellowmen, giving them hope in your promises and comfort in your saving and healing grace. We revel in your gospel truths, by which we live and breathe, enlightened and empowered in Jesus’ Name. Amen
