Isaiah 61: 1-2

17 July, 2020

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn. Isaiah 61:1–2, NIV

Abba Father, we exalt your Holy Name and give you all glory and honor for the wondrous works of your hands. Your treasury of mercy, love and compassion is so unfathomable and complete, that you appointed your only Son, the Word Incarnate, to come in mortal form and you anointed him to become our Savior, the Messiah, prophesied to save the whole of mankind from the ignominy of sin and enslavement of disease and death. You not only ensured our salvation but also deemed us as worthy inheritors of your Kingdom. Fill us Lord, with the power of your Holy Spirit, rekindle in us the flame of your light and truth, that we may strip ourselves of all evil manifestations and clothe ourselves in righteousness. Help us to repent, overcome the obstacles of the world and spread your good works and the good news of your awaited Kingdom. We implore in Jesus’ Name. Amen
