Oh, that You would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains might quake at Your presence — Isaiah 64:1

Heavenly God, Who are All-Powerful and Majestic in your Glory, we have offended your great mercy and compassion, your love and kindness and have shown disobedience, unbelief and ingratitude. We have provoked your wrath and hurry to make reparation for all our iniquities. We marvel at your faithfulness, dear God and the loving way you lead your people out of the wilderness of their own making. Lord, redeem us from the hand of our adversaries when we cry in grief for a manifestation of your power. At every step you assure us that the just will have victory and the wicked will be exposed.

Lord our God, you hear the prayers of your children. We raise our voices in supplication, for mankind writhes in pain and under judgment, and evil is rife in the world. Lord, behold us suffer and die, undergoing terrible things as a bitter consequence of the wicked ways of men. Help us fulfil your commission as believers, to spread the good news of the gospel, live upright lives with love of our God and our neighbor prioritized, and lead all people of the world to you.

We pray sincerely that all men grow in the fear of the Lord and renew their hearts and minds, turning to you and becoming recipients of your enveloping mercy. Remove all impediments, Lord, and define the pathway of truth for us to follow. Reveal your power and flaming presence Lord, that we may glorify your name on earth and may behold the wonders of your hand. May your Name be honored, for all time, and may your Holy Will be done, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
