Jeremiah 16:19

20 November, 2022

Lord, my strength and my fortress, my refuge in time of distress, to you the nations will come from the ends of the earth and say, “Our ancestors possessed nothing but false gods, worthless idols that did them no good.” Jeremiah 16:19

Eternal God, you are our stronghold and our sanctuary, our salvation and our foundation. In you is all majesty and power, all glory and honor. We have been sinners and under the slavery of wickedness and sloth, blasphemy and heresy. And in your compassion and supreme benevolence you humbly turned your divinity to humanity, when, as Jesus, our promised messiah, you came to earth and filled us with your Grace, Light and Truth.

Jesus is the testimony of your being, of your omnipresence and omnipotence, which establishes you as the one, true, everlasting and ever-living God. His resurrection and ascension into heaven had been witnessed by his disciples who testified and propagated the gospel of his preaching and teaching and his revelation of your perfect attributes. You have filled us with the abundance of your love, and as Christians, given us the gift of the indwelling Holy Spirit, sanctifying us with your grace and mercy, justice and holiness.

By our faith, as believers of the new order of Christians with Christ as our Head, and filled with your favor, we humbly count ourselves fortunate to be among your chosen people, the children of God, and beneficiaries of eternal redemption in your kingdom. We beseech you to empower us to fearlessly testify our faith and beliefs, and in so doing, evangelize and draw more people from the farthest corners of the earth into the light of your presence as staunch believers. We await the day when the prophecy that every knee shall bow and every tongue confess to Jesus being Lord comes to pass. Amen
