John 14:6

4 February, 2021

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me.” John 14:6

Heavenly Father, our souls are uplifted in praise and worship, in songs of your glory and majesty, in awe of your divinity and unblemished love for the whole of mankind. Your righteousness and justice you display to those who follow your word of life, for the choice is ours to determine. You sent the word with which you created the universe, in flesh, to reside with us, knowing that our sinful nature needed sanctifying and guidance.

Jesus revealed the full power of your glory and the extent of your dominion which encompasses all length and breadth, covering time and space, by virtue of his birth through a virgin, untouched by sin, his life, abounding in perfect wisdom and knowledge and his death, a sacrificial atonement for the impiety of man. He saved us, he redeemed us, he restored us and he promised to prepare a place for us in the eternal heavenly kingdom, to which he himself would lead us, having reconciled us with you, Father God, for eternity.

He disclosed to us the truths of your word and the way to you, Father, by following him, taking up the cross with him. He is the very author of life, the author of our salvation, the only truth which emanated from the mouth of our God, which would fulfil all that was promised us. He is the only way, the disclosure of which was witnessed when he ascended into heaven. He is the only truth, being divinity itself and thus clothed with absolute and just authority. In him is the life of the whole of mankind and through faith in him, we become recipients of the grace of eternal life. As Christians we enter into your presence Father, by following the way, the truth and the life, which is Christ Jesus. Amen
