Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again..” ~Luke 6:38

Lord God, we give you praise and glory for you are the Giver of the gift of life, the gift of love, the gift of forgiveness, the gift of salvation, the gift of deliverance. You have given us as believers, the gifts of sonship, eternal life, a rich inheritance as co-heirs of the heavenly kingdom and the greatest gift of all, the gift of your beloved Son Jesus Christ to the world, to deliver all the above gifts to your people, freely, uplifting us all to new life in you, by our faith and the gift of your saving grace.

Jesus taught us how to live by your word, and revealed the way to you and the truth which would lead us to the life of eternal salvation. Lord, your promises to us are real and everlasting and we need to sanctify our lives by loving unconditionally, as you love, by giving generously and forgiving completely, as you forgive us and by helping our fellowmen without any expectations.

Lord, you have manifested abundantly the countless blessings you bestow upon us, even in our unworthiness, and you have forgiven us our many iniquities and transgressions far beyond measure. You have rescued us with your merciful right hand when we were in the wretched state of ungodliness, by Jesus’ death and resurrection. This Lenten season, imprint in our hearts the pure love of neighbor, the forgiveness of our enemies by blessing them and the generosity of helping others without anything in return, for the recompense we receive will be from you, through Jesus our Lord. Amen

Father God, forgive my miserly forgiveness in the past. Forgive my previous condemning attitude toward others. Open my heart to share your generosity. Open my heart to give others the benefit of the doubt instead of judging them. Use me as a conduit of your generosity and grace. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
