For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in. I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. – Matthew 25:35-36
Heavenly Father, You sent Your beloved Son Jesus to serve and to save humanity. Thank You for the reminder of the sacredness in serving others. You call us to recognize You in the faces of the hungry, the thirsty, the stranger, the naked, the sick, and the imprisoned. Forgive us for the times we have turned away, too busy or too blind to see Your image in those in need. Teach us to open our hearts and extend our hands in compassion, not for recognition but out of obedience and love for You.
Lord Jesus, You showed us what it means to serve with humility and mercy. You fed the multitudes, welcomed the outcast, and comforted the suffering. Help us to walk in Your footsteps daily. May we not only see the needs around us but respond with urgency and grace. Create in us a spirit that finds joy in giving, peace in welcoming, and purpose in visiting those the world forgets.
Holy Spirit, stir within us a deeper awareness of the mission You have given us. Let this passage be a mirror that reflects the state of our hearts and a lamp that lights our path. May our service to others be a true act of worship, a living testimony of our faith. Empower us to live out this call with courage and conviction, ever seeking to honor Christ in the least of these. Amen
