Matthew 6 :12

12 October, 2020

Forgive us the wrongs we have done, as we forgive the wrongs that others have done to us. Matthew 6:12

Lord God, you are our Gracious, Sovereign Ruler, and we, the blessed recipients of your free gift of grace, and Christ’s sacrificial gift of Salvation for us,  taking the curse of the collective sins of mankind upon himself, with every wound and nail hammered into his body on the Cross, forgiving his persecutors unconditionally, before his last breath.

May we extend forgiveness to those who have hurt and caused irreparable harm and damage to our minds and souls, facing every bitter outburst of the world’s fury, so that you, our Heavenly Father, may cleanse us of our offences. May we not forfeit our eternal salvation and suffer perdition as a result of our unforgiving spirit and for harbouring unforgiveness in our hearts.

May we surrender to you all the hurt we have suffered, without seeking to avenge ourselves but trusting in you Lord, to make things right. We cast our burdens unto you, Lord, knowing that without you, we are nothing, and believing that you will unleash your Power using our weakness, to confer justice and victory to the victim and condemnation to the accused.

Lord, as a grace-oriented people, we will sincerely strive to execute grace towards others, by forgiving them and freeing ourselves to receive your graces. We have been judicially pardoned by you, God, and forgive others their trespasses, to gain access, with absolute justification, into your sanctifying Presence, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
