Micah 7:18

5 October, 2022

Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. – Micah 7:18

Eternal God, you are Faithful, Just, full of Mercy and Righteousness. You shine your Light on all humanity and only look for purity and love in the hearts of your people. You have manifested your unparalleled grace towards repentant souls, mindful of our inherent sinful nature. You forgive easily, when our hearts approach yours in utter anguish and humility, and you pardon those of us who acknowledge our unrighteousness and infidelities, seeking your absolution.

None but you, Sovereign, Mighty God, can forgive iniquity, and forget the offenses of a truly remorseful person.
You withdraw your wrath and release your soothing mercy, taking away our transgressions and your punishment. You grant your people free grace, which we beget by our faith and which is not merited by any of our works. For you have redeemed us from condemnation and reinstated us as co-heirs of your Heavenly inheritance, holding us close and making us your own, forevermore.

Lord God, fount of clemency, you bestow upon us the riches of your glory and though you chastise us, you do not cast us away, having made eternal salvation obtainable by us, through the sacrifice of our Savior Jesus Christ. You delight in rewarding your people with your mercy when we truly repent and follow your Holy Will. We thank you Lord and make honest attempts to live up to our faith, in order to merit your everlasting love and favor, through Christ our Lord. Amen
