THE 11TH OF MAY

JESUS IS THE SAVIOR OF THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN HIM AND MAKE HIM LORD

And [besides] we ourselves have seen (have deliberately and steadfastly contemplated) and bear witness that the Father has sent the Son [as the] Savior of the world. Anyone who confesses (acknowledges, owns) that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides (lives, makes His home) in him and he [abides, lives, makes his home] in God. – 1 John 4:14-15

The apostle John was very close to Jesus while He lived on earth. He acknowledged the Lord’s love for him and he wrote about himself as being “the disciple whom Jesus loved.” John knew that God willingly sent His Son to save the world. Father God and His Son, being outside of time, as we know it, both knew the costs and the pain involved in doing so and they still did it, out of their amazing love for us.

Once we acknowledge and confess that Jesus is the Son of God, who died in our place, God makes His home and starts to live in us and we make our home and start to live in God. Isn’t that an incredible truth? What an amazing love God has for us! We have been redeemed with the highest possible price and that makes us of huge value. Our value is the life of God’s Son! How can we choose to do anything less than love Him back with all our hearts, giving it all to Him and living to please and honor Him to the end.

SUGGESTED PRAYER

My beloved Lord, please help me understand how much You love and value me. Please help me love You back with all my heart, mind, will and all that I am! Because of Your love and all that You did for me, I can have an abundant, blessed life! Please help me to always make the right choice and please You in all I think, feel, say and do! Thank You with all my heart for everything You already have done and provided for me. Amen
