THE CLOSER WE ARE TO GOD, THE MORE WE CAN TRUST HIM
But it is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all Your works. – Psalms 73:28
We all (or almost all) want to be happy and content, but the truth is that without being with Jesus we can only find short-lived happiness that cannot really fill the space in our hearts that we were created with. That space has been created to be occupied by the presence of God through the Holy Spirit.
We must desire to enter in the “shelter” that the Lord offers us. Prayer, praise and worship, as well as meditation on the Word of God, are the right keys that open the door to the Lord’s presence. To be able to enjoy God’s glory, we need to make sure that we do not have any unconfessed sin and are totally surrendered to Him. The Holy Spirit makes His presence felt in the hearts that call on Him and passionately desire Him.
SUGGESTED PRAYER
Thank You my Lord for the kindness You show in my life, day by day! By living for You I have found true happiness! There is deep joy under the shelter of Your wings. My deepest desire is to live to please You and that there will never be anything to separate me from Your presence. Praises and honor to Your holy Name. Amen
