THE 21st OF AUGUST
WE CAN HAVE TRUE PATIENCE ONLY THROUGH THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
Strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. – Colossians 1:11-12
Spiritual growth is so rewarding. As we grow in the knowledge of God, we see everything from His perspective and our value system continues to improve. We will have God’s value system only when we will arrive in heaven, but we can constantly grow while we are still in these bodies.
As we focus on the Lord, meditating and feeding on His Word, God’s glorious might continuously strengthens us. God’s wisdom is available and helps us to understand what we should do to have full endurance and patience in every trial of life. The Holy Spirit is just a breath away and gives us all the strength we need, if we ask Him to.
Since I learned that I can call on His help no matter what my need is, my life is much easier! It can be the same for all of us. We can truly endure all that God allows on our path and we can joyfully give thanks to our Father, because He has qualified us “to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.” Jesus is the light of the world and we are co-heirs with Him.
SUGGESTED PRAYER
What great joy it is dear Lord, to realize how much You made available to me through Your sacrifice, glory to God! With the Holy Spirit’s help I can have all the strength I need to endure with patience all the hardships of life and truly keep a thankful heart! Thank You so very much for qualifying me to share the inheritance of the saints in the light. You deserve all my praise, honor and obedience, dear Lord. In the Name of Jesus I pray. Amen
