THE 24TH OF MAY
FAITH COMES BY HEARING THE WORD OF GOD
So faith comes by hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the preaching [of the message that came from the lips] of Christ (the Messiah Himself). Romans 10:17
For us to believe, there must be something to believe in, in the first place. No one can start having faith in Jesus without ever hearing about Him. We all had to hear God’s Word first, to start to believe in it. Jesus was the first one who preached the Good News.
He told His disciples about His sacrifice, before it happened, so they would understand why it happened. Even so, the disciples were devastated and it took a while until they remembered what the Lord told them. We all know that without the conviction of the Holy Spirit, no one can believe that Jesus is the Son of God, who died for their sins.
We cannot understand and believe the Word of God as being the truth and have faith in it without the revelation of the Holy Spirit. In order to be transformed by God’s Word, we have to believe it as being the truth and pray in faith upon it. This is true about receiving all we need from God, through prayer. The prayer of faith is heard by God and receives the answer. To remain in faith and not doubt, while waiting upon our Lord, we need to stand on the right Scriptures, asking the Holy Spirit to increase our faith.
SUGGESTED PRAYER
Dear Lord, please help me study, meditate and declare Your Word, so that I may live a holy life, for Your glory. Please help me continue to tell others what Your Word says about salvation so that they may choose to follow You too. Dear Lord, please show me the right scriptures for the things I have to pray about, and reveal their truth to my heart through Your Holy Spirit, so that my faith may grow and be able to cancel any doubt. Thank You and praise You for Your holy Word. Amen
