THE 26th OF JULY
ONLY IN TRUSTING THE LORD WE MAY FIND TRUE PEACE
You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You—in both inclination and character], because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation]. Trust [confidently] in the Lord forever [He is your fortress, your shield, your banner], for the Lord God is an everlasting Rock [the Rock of Ages]. – Isaiah 26:3-4
It is truly possible to live in perfect peace because that is our Lord’s desire for us. But to be able to live a peaceful life, we must renew our minds through God’s Word and to be committed and focus on the Lord in all areas of our lives. Whenever we do so, we fully trust God for all that we need and go through, and we find our secure place in our Lord. In Him, we have not only our hope, but a confident expectation that He will make all things work together for our benefit in the long term.
The more we repeat in our hearts and declare with our mouths, that God is our fortress, our shield and banner that we can trust confidently and fully, no matter what, the more we believe it and the more peace we will have. God really is the Rock of Ages, He is the Alpha and Omega, who has no beginning and no end.
SUGGESTED PRAYER
Precious Lord, how great it is to trust in You and You alone. There is nothing too hard for You and nothing can take You by surprise, as You know the end from the beginning. You are my fortress and my shield and I can take refuge in You with confident expectation that You will do what is best for me. Dear Lord, You truly are the everlasting Rock of Ages and I can trust in You forever. Glory and praises to Your Holy Name. Amen
