THE 4th OF APRIL
EVERLASTING PEACE AND REST COME FROM A RIGHTEOUS LIFE
“The work of righteousness will be peace, and the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever. My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places.” – Isaiah 32:17-18
When we surrender to God and live in obedience to Him, we are counted as righteous through Jesus’ sacrifice. This righteousness brings us peace, quietness, and lasting assurance. It is a wonderful promise and an unchanging truth! As God’s children, we dwell in His peace, finding security and rest in Him. No matter the circumstances, we can reject fear and worry, choosing instead to trust in Christ, who cares for us and our future.
However, we must be mindful of the influences around us. The world is filled with people who are consumed by anxiety and despair. If we are not careful, we may begin to adopt their mindset. To remain steadfast, we must focus on Jesus, immerse ourselves in His Word, and guard our hearts against negativity. By staying in fellowship with the Lord, we can stand firm in His truth and reflect His peace to those around us.
SUGGESTED PRAYER
Dear Lord, help us to remain vigilant when surrounded by negativity, fear, and despair. Strengthen us to silently pray and declare Your truth, bringing light to those who speak words of hopelessness.
Thank You for the eternal peace, security, and rest we have in You. Teach us to trust in You daily, to dwell in Your presence, and to praise You always. Amen
