THE 6th OF JANUARY
PEACE COMES WHEN WE SURRENDER IT ALL TO JESUS
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:6-7
Anxiety and gratitude cannot coexist. We cannot experience worry and peace, or fear and joy, at the same time. Fear steals our courage and extinguishes joy. However, a heart filled with gratitude shifts our focus from our problems to God, the ultimate source of all good and the solution to every challenge that troubles us. True peace comes when we choose to trust Him completely, letting go of worry and fear.
Life will always present reasons to be anxious, but how we respond makes all the difference. Dwelling on our fears only magnifies them, making it harder to trust God. Instead, when we intentionally focus on gratitude and meditate on His promises, we align ourselves with Paul’s encouragement to “be anxious for nothing.”
SUGGESTED PRAYER
Lord, help me to trust You completely. You are my provider, my protector, and my comforter, the One Who keeps Your promises without fail. Thank You for all that You have already done in my life and for the way You always resolve the challenges I face. I place my trust in You, knowing that Your peace will guard my heart and mind. In Jesus’ Name. Amen
