PEACE IS THE FERTILE GROUND FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS

“Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.”  James 3:18

In Matthew 5:9, Jesus says, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.” It is truly remarkable to understand that as God’s children, we are not only lovers of peace but also creators of it, capable of resolving conflicts and calming disputes. This is possible because the peace of the Holy Spirit resides within us, and once we realize this, we can draw from it and transform our lives completely.

Anger, bitterness, worry, fear, and arguing are peace destroyers and never produce righteousness; in fact, they do the opposite. When we allow these negative emotions to fill our hearts, avoiding sin becomes difficult. To be peacemakers, we must consistently choose what is right, not just occasionally. As Paul wrote in Galatians 6:7, “Whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.”

By preserving our peace and striving for it, we greatly benefit ourselves. Being “right” in most arguments is often overrated, and insisting on having the last word can rob us of our peace and joy. The more we fight to maintain our peace, the less we sin and the more blessed we become.

SUGGESTED PRAYER

Father God, thank You so much for allowing me to experience Your peace and for providing the tools to maintain it. Please help me make the right choices and sow good seeds in peace so that I may reap the fruit of righteousness every day of my life. I love You, dear Lord, and cherish Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Glory and praises to Your Holy Name. Amen
