THE 9th OF JANUARY
NO MATTER WHAT WE HAVE TO GO THROUGH JESUS SETS THE PERFECT EXAMPLE FOR US
Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. – Hebrews 12:2
We are encouraged to follow the example of the anointed men of God that have practiced what they have preached. We need to target every sin that may tempt us together with everything that may stop us from living righteous lives, so we may live efficiently and finish right the race of faith.
If we follow Jesus, the perfect example of faith and holiness, we will finish up well. It was worth it to Jesus to come as one of us and live in this dirty and sinful world; He came to heal and help, even the very ones who condemned Him to death and did not consider that it was too much for Him to die the worse death of all times, through crucifixion.
SUGGESTED PRAYER
I can never thank You enough my Lord, for all you suffered for me. I am imploring You with all my heart to help me to recognise every sin and not sin against You. Dear Lord, please fill me with Your Holy Spirit, so that I will have the determination to fight against all that may cause me to sin, inorder to live a holy and pure life that pleases You. It is such a joy to know that You rejoice at the thought of having me with You forever in heaven. Thank You Lord. Amen
