Philippians 2: 3-5

13 June, 2022

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus. Philippians 2:3–5

O God of unfathomable kindness, you are the divine embodiment of love, the spirit of which encompasses the world, binding us together and your commanding doctrine for the world is that we love and cherish one another. As we tread the journey of our earthly existence, which is filled with potholes and detours, trials and adversity threaten to overwhelm us, and evil hauls us down.

Help us sift falsehood from truth, replace emotional and impulsive fervor with stable and simple modesty and temper a critical and judgmental spirit with honest evaluation and unprejudiced treatment of our fellowmen. As members of Christ’s body, render us with a humble disposition to walk in the grace of the Spirit dwelling in us with Christlike humility and undivided loyalty to our Messiah and Lord.

With Christian zeal, let us become seekers of the Light of truth, bearers of the Light of faith and hope, harbingers of the message of the Light of Salvation. May we be submissive and patient, serving rather than dominating, offering up in sacrifice our weak human frailties to you, God of compassion, to mold us according to your Holy Will. In Christ Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen
