Philippians 2:12

1 November, 2021

So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; – Philippians 2:12

Heavenly Father, we stand before you in humble salutation, for your Spirit of Omniscience had, even before creating the world, envisaged our sinful and fickle nature and had worked out a plan of rescuing and redeeming us unto eternal salvation, from the pit of condemnation. You have manifested abundantly your grace and mercy, and your indisputable love for your creation.

Only by your grace and by our faith in our Savior and Messiah, Jesus Christ, can we enter the gates of heaven, where our entry is anticipated, for Jesus has, to completion, saved us and freed us from spiritual death and eternal damnation to an everlasting life in him and in your presence. We are exhorted and gently compelled to live in obedience to your Holy Gospel, and your commandment of absolute and unconditional love for our God and for our fellow human beings.

By relinquishing and entrusting our lives totally to your care, with infinite faith and trust in your unfailing justice and providence, we will, dear Lord, continue to patiently suffer and carry our cross, as Jesus has demonstrated. Lord, with reverential awe in your Divine Majesty, we cling fast to you alone and mindful, as well as solicitous, towards others, humbly and fervently look only to Jesus, to accompany us as we work for the accomplishment of our salvation through Christ our Lord. Amen
