Psalm 16: 1-2

11 December, 2020

Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge. I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing. Psalm 16:1–2

Heavenly Father, with unbounded trust and confidence that you are with us at all times, our defender, our protector, our counselor, our strength and refuge because you are omnipresent and omnipotent, we cleave to you for safety. We seek you in pleasant and peaceful pastures, and look to you for preservation.

You have rescued us, redeemed us, delivered us from destructible bondage given us your providence and have made an everlasting covenant by giving us citizenship in heaven, sonship and a rich inheritance, making us co-heirs of your Heavenly Kingdom. You have defeated our evil adversaries and reconciled us to yourself, through our Savior Jesus Christ.

We put our absolute trust in you, Lord, not only for our salvation and eternal life with you, but for our everyday distresses and tribulations, knowing and believing you and promising that where you go, we will follow. For without you we come to naught and with you, we are without the tiresome burdens of worries, sins and the perils of an impenitent death of eternal condemnation.

We choose life, Lord, only with you, for your grace is sufficient for us and we can replenish our souls with the clear, soothing, living waters of everlasting purity and sanctity, basking in the presence of your countenance, and offering you praise and glory forevermore, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
