He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High, who abides in the shadow of the Almighty, will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.” Psalm 91:1–2
Lord God, our Sanctuary, our Shelter, our Stronghold, you exude resplendent strength and glory in the majesty of the array of your divine, beatific light, which surrounds you like a cloak. We cling to you, endeavoring to be showered with your radiance and warmth and dispel the gloom of darkness threatening to submerge us in a shroud of wickedness and sin.
Now, more than ever, we need to stay protected and secure in your promises, for there is a tremendous increase of self-proclaimed denominations who maintain being your true followers and bring in a new gospel of prosperity and convenience, leading your children astray, like lambs led to the slaughter.
We are nothing without you, and as true believers, testify with calm courage to our absolute reliance upon our Creator God of hope and restoration. You have chosen us by grace, absolving our sins and reconciling us to a spiritual family. We believe that Jesus dwells in us, making us children of the Father, and we surrender to your holy will and your word, in Jesus our Lord. Amen
