Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth. I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. Revelation 3:10–11
O Lord, our Stronghold, our rescuer, we resolutely conform our lives to the truth of your ways, treading very cautiously, as we attempt to sidetrack and avoid perils and pitfalls treacherously placed in our path by the malignant foe. In a world already plagued by a pandemic which is severely challenging and arduous for mankind, we are tackling difficulties with fortitude, surrendering totally to your steadfastness to uphold us.
Jesus taught us that complacency and procrastination are dangerous traits, and exhorted us through his preaching and parables to achieve a state of preparedness in our lives, alert and vigilant in the face of temptations and trials that can steer us from the ways of righteousness and capture our soul into unholiness, if we are not guarding it in spirit and in truth.
There is a precious inheritance that Jesus has acquired for us in heaven, at the end of a faithful journey through life, as recompenses which we will be crowned with. Father God, you have commissioned Jesus, by his death on the cross of our sins, to win our salvation as a free gift of grace in a life eternal. Help us to be loyal subjects of our loving Lord Jesus, purifying and sanctifying ourselves to become worthy to stand in his presence and yours at our encounter on the last day of judgement.
We pledge, dear Heavenly Father, to stand restored, renewed, redeemed and transformed when we enter your divine presence in our heavenly abode, in Jesus’ holy name. Amen
