TODAY’S GOSPEL READING
1 FEBRUARY, 2026
Matthew 5:1–12
Seeing the multitudes, Jesus went up into a mountain, and when he was set down, his disciples came unto him.
And opening his mouth he taught them, saying:
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the
kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are the meek, for they shall possess the land.
Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after justice, for they shall have their fill.
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the clean of heart, for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.
Blessed are they that suffer persecution for justice’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when they shall revile you and persecute you, and speak all that is evil against you untruly, for my sake.
Be glad and rejoice, for your reward is very great in heaven.

REFLECTION
The gospel of today reminds us that true happiness is not found in having more ,but in loving God and others even when it costs us something
The beatitudes teach us to live in a faith that is humble, courageous and sincere
They assures us that God always sees what the world overlooks; quite goodness, hidden sacrifices, patient suffering and faithful perseverance
In following the beatitudes,we may not always be applauded , but we are promised something far greater;The Kingdom of Heaven.
PRAYER
Lord of perfection, You lived the Beatitudes to the fullest during Your life on earth and continue to manifest those perfections from Heaven. Please open my heart to Your grace and fill me with Your Holy Spirit, so that I may answer the call to the new and glorious moral state to which I am called. Empower me to live fully immersed in and guided by Your Sacrificial Love. Help me to inspire others to embrace this path of holiness, so that we may journey together toward the eternal joy of Your Kingdom. Amen
