TODAY’S GOSPEL READING
11 NOVEMBER, 2025
Luke 17:7-10
Jesus said to the Apostles:
“Who among you would say to your servant
who has just come in from plowing or tending sheep in the field,
‘Come here immediately and take your place at table’?
Would he not rather say to him,
‘Prepare something for me to eat.
Put on your apron and wait on me while I eat and drink.
You may eat and drink when I am finished’?
Is he grateful to that servant because he did what was commanded?
So should it be with you.
When you have done all you have been commanded, say,
‘We are unprofitable servants;
we have done what we were obliged to do.’”
THE GOSPEL OF THE LORD!

REFLECTION
In this passage, Jesus reminds His disciples that obedience to God is not a favor we do for Him but the natural duty of a faithful servant. When we serve, whether through prayer, charity, or daily faithfulness, we are not earning merit but fulfilling our role as children of God. True discipleship flows from humility—recognizing that all we have and do is by His grace. Our service should be marked by gratitude, not pride, and by love, not self-seeking reward. In serving God faithfully, we discover the joy of belonging wholly to Him.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, teach me the heart of a humble servant. Help me to serve You faithfully without seeking recognition or reward. May every act I do flow from love and gratitude for all You have done for me. Grant me the grace to say with sincerity, “I am an unworthy servant; I have only done my duty.” Strengthen my faithfulness in small things and fill my heart with joy in serving You always. Amen
