TODAY’S GOSPEL READING
16 JULY, 2025
Matthew 11:25-27
At that time Jesus exclaimed:
“I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth,
for although you have hidden these things
from the wise and the learned
you have revealed them to the childlike.
Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will.
All things have been handed over to me by my Father.
No one knows the Son except the Father,
and no one knows the Father except the Son
and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him.”
THE GOSPEL OF THE LORD!

REFLECTION
In these verses, Jesus offers praise to the Father for revealing divine truths not to the wise and learned, but to the humble and childlike. He reveals a deep intimacy between the Father and the Son, a relationship of mutual knowledge and love. The mystery of God’s kingdom is not grasped through intellect or status but through a heart open to trust and dependence. Jesus, as the Son, is the exclusive revealer of the Father—only through Him can one truly know God. This passage calls us to embrace humility and to seek deeper relationship with Jesus, who invites us into the loving knowledge of the Father.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, we praise You for Your wisdom that confounds the proud and uplifts the humble. Thank You for revealing the treasures of Your kingdom to the childlike in spirit. Lord Jesus, we acknowledge You as the perfect revelation of the Father. Teach us to come to You with open hearts, letting go of pride and self-reliance. Help us to know You more deeply, that we may come to know the Father through You.
May we walk each day in the simplicity of faith, receiving Your truth with joy, and resting in the knowledge that we are loved and known by You. Amen
