TODAY’S GOSPEL READING – 2 NOVEMBER

TODAY’S GOSPEL READING
2 NOVEMBER, 2025
John 6:37-40

Jesus said to the crowds:
“Everything that the Father gives me will come to me,
and I will not reject anyone who comes to me,
because I came down from heaven not to do my own will
but the will of the one who sent me.
And this is the will of the one who sent me,
that I should not lose anything of what he gave me,
but that I should raise it on the last day.
For this is the will of my Father,
that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him
may have eternal life,
and I shall raise him on the last day.”

THE GOSPEL OF THE LORD!

REFLECTION

Today’s Gospel reminds us of a profound truth: whenever someone comes to Jesus, He will not reject them. “For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him may have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”

In this simple proclamation is comforting certainty: our value isn’t earned by what we do but by the Father’s loving choice, and Christ’s promise to raise us up that we might live forever with Him. It challenges us to trust—not in our own merit—but in the gift of new life made possible through faith and relationship with Jesus. Especially as we remember those who have gone before us in faith today, we see that death is not the end, but a passage into the fullness of life.

May this truth stir in us hope and prompt us to live each day with gratitude, confidence, and compassion—knowing we belong to a loving God who will not lose what He has given.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, You call each of us to come to Your Son, and promise that none who come will be rejected. Thank You for this loving invitation and this sure hope. Help me to believe deeply that You raise me up and will give me eternal life. Strengthen my faith and fill me with courage to walk in that hope.

On behalf of those who have died in Christ, I entrust them into Your merciful hands. May they rest in peace and shine forever in Your presence. Comfort those who mourn with the promise of resurrection and eternal companionship with You.

Teach me to live each day in the light of this eternal life—loving You, loving others, and reflecting the life of Your Son until I see Him face to face. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
