TODAY’S GOSPEL READING
28 MAY, 2025
John 16:12-15
Jesus said to his disciples:
“I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now.
But when he comes, the Spirit of truth,
he will guide you to all truth.
He will not speak on his own,
but he will speak what he hears,
and will declare to you the things that are coming.
He will glorify me,
because he will take from what is mine and declare it to you.
Everything that the Father has is mine;
for this reason I told you that he will take from what is mine
and declare it to you.”
THE GOSPEL OF THE LORD!
REFLECTION
Jesus, in His compassion, acknowledges the disciples’ limited understanding and promises the coming of the Spirit of truth. This passage reveals God’s patience with our growth and His commitment to lead us into all truth through the Holy Spirit. The Spirit does not speak independently but glorifies Christ, making known what belongs to the Father and the Son. It is a divine partnership of revelation, love, and guidance. As believers, we are invited into this unfolding journey of truth, learning to trust the Spirit’s gentle voice that aligns us more fully with Christ.
PRAYER
Gracious Father, thank You for sending the Spirit of truth to guide us in Your ways. We confess our limitations and ask for open hearts to receive Your wisdom. Teach us to listen carefully and follow faithfully. May the Spirit glorify Christ in us and help us walk in truth, even when we do not fully understand. Strengthen our trust in Your timing and Your voice. In Jesus’ name, Amen
