TODAY’S GOSPEL READING
29 NOVEMBER, 2025
Luke 21:34–36
“Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down
with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life,
and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap.
For it will come on all those who live on the face of the whole earth.
Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape
all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.”
THE GOSPEL OF THE LORD!

REFLECTION
Lord, You call us to live with watchful hearts, awake and alert to Your presence. So often we allow the pressures and concerns of daily life to burden us, drawing our attention away from what truly matters. Yet You invite us to walk in clarity, self-control, and hope, keeping our eyes fixed on You.
In this passage, Jesus warns that distractions, indulgence, and anxieties can cloud our spiritual vision. He urges us to remain vigilant, not out of fear, but out of readiness—so that we may stand firm when trials arise and remain faithful until the day we meet Him. True alertness comes not from worry, but from prayer, trust, and a heart anchored in God.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, keep my heart awake and attentive to Your voice. Help me not to be weighed down by the worries of life or the distractions that pull me away from You. Grant me the strength to live with discipline, clarity, and faith. Teach me to watch and to pray each day, so that I may stand firm and walk courageously in Your light. Amen
