TODAY’S GOSPEL READING
3 OCTOBER, 2025
Luke 10:13-16

Jesus said to them,
“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida!
For if the mighty deeds done in your midst
had been done in Tyre and Sidon,
they would long ago have repented,
sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
But it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon
at the judgment than for you.
And as for you, Capernaum, ‘Will you be exalted to heaven?
You will go down to the netherworld.’
Whoever listens to you listens to me.
Whoever rejects you rejects me.
And whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me.”

THE GOSPEL OF THE LORD!

REFLECTION

In this passage, Jesus rebukes the cities of Chorazin, Bethsaida, and Capernaum for their lack of repentance despite witnessing His mighty works. His words remind us that witnessing God’s power and hearing His message comes with responsibility. Privilege brings accountability, and indifference to God’s call hardens the heart. To reject the message of Christ is to reject Him, and in doing so, to reject the One who sent Him. This challenges us to examine our own openness to God’s word and our response to His presence in our lives.

PRAYER

Lord Jesus, open our hearts to recognize Your works in our lives and grant us the grace to respond with true repentance. Save us from indifference and help us to value the gift of Your word. May we never take Your presence for granted, but humbly walk in obedience to You. Strengthen us to be faithful witnesses so that through our lives, others may come to know and accept You. Amen
