Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. – 1 Corinthians 13:4
Abba Father, every day we experience the wonder that is you. In great and loud and melodious acclaim, we laud your mystical being, Infinite in Majesty, Infallible in judgment, Indefinable in love, Immeasurable in mercy, Incomparable in power, Unparalleled in holiness and these praises of you we rend unto the heavens in great exultation.
Your new covenant as taught to us by our Messiah Jesus, embodies love as the one measure to obtain your grace, in your commandment, which is to love God and to love our neighbor as ourselves. Jesus showed us his love by serving the sinners, converting them by his selfless love and sacrificing his life to save and redeem them, to transform and renew them, to restore and deliver them, destroying sin and justifying us before our Father.
Love is the greatest of all virtues. Love of God more than love of self, makes us attuned to experiential knowledge of you, our Creator God. Love of neighbor involves helping others without expectations, reaching out to those in need of spiritual guidance, rejoicing over another’s triumph, not resenting or jealous, but gladly embracing our brethren and treating them as we would have them treat us, forgiving, trusting, and treading the path of holiness as we walk closer to you, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
