2 Peter 3: 17-18

8 October, 2020

Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen. 2 Peter 3:17–18

Almighty Father, we enter this day with exultant hearts, offering thanksgiving to you Father, for blessing us with another day of life. We will endeavor to live each moment to the glory of your Name, adhering to your Holy Will.

We are steadfastly rooted in the faith that you, our Father, are ever present with us through the power of your Holy Spirit, guiding us to discern right from wrong. We have been forewarned about false prophets who will assail us and assault our faith. The evil one is devising even more wicked schemes to lure us away from you and destroy us through his devious methods, even quoting your Holy Word to give credence to his plans.

We are attacked from all quarters, but trust in your mercy and faithfulness to restore us to the right path if we fall astray. We will persevere in growing spiritually to a strength which enables us to rebuke and defeat the forces of the earth by donning the spiritual armor of the truth of your gospel. We have been made secure and firm by the doctrines imparted to us by our Lord Jesus, and can no longer plead ignorance at our failures.

In the present times we are facing varied interpretations of your  doctrines, mouthed by multiple denominations using the name of Jesus as justification for their cause, distorting the message of the gospel to their convenience and it has become imperative to stay on guard and throttle these ignominious forces from without and within. We can accomplish this only with your help Lord and we take the name of Jesus to intercede for us all to be faithful and steadfast to our effectual calling. Amen
