Saint Paternus, also known as Padarn, was born into a devout Christian family, traditionally believed to be in Brittany. From an early age, he was raised in faith and simplicity. Rather than seeking worldly success, he entrusted his life to God’s plan. Responding to a divine call, he journeyed to Wales, embracing a life of mission and service. His willingness to leave home and rely entirely on God reflects deep humility and trust.
 

ZEAL FOR EVANGELIZATION

Saint Paternus became one of the early missionaries who helped spread Christianity in Wales. He established a monastery at Llanbadarn Fawr, which became a center of learning and faith.
