The eyes of the Lord are on those who love him, a mighty shield and strong support, a shelter from scorching wind and a shade from noonday sun, a guard against stumbling and a help against falling. Ecclesiasticus 34:19
O Lord, our Refuge and our Fortress, our Shield against the deadly attacks coming from dark provinces, we bow in humble adoration, for we are your sinful, unworthy children and yet, Lord, your watchful gaze protects us and keeps us safe from the prowling clutches of evil.
For the devout child of God, your Sanctuary is where we seek safety from a convulsed world of crimes that are ever on the increase, especially in these dark ages, full of unbelief and discouragement, trial and persecution to dissuade believers from performing their mission of propagating the Truth and Good News of the Gospel.
We place our hope in you Lord, trusting that your purifying Light will protect us and keep us from wandering on the wrong path. Christ, our Savior, has redeemed us and transformed us with new birth in the Spirit. He has shepherded us and delivered us unto righteousness, making us true children of our Mighty Father. We trust in your Promises and Providence, for your protection will keep us from falling and our faith will fill us with your saving Grace.
We invoke your help in our everyday lives which are beset with challenges that hinder our spiritual growth. May we never fail in seeking your mighty preservation and discerning your Holy Will. This will advance our salvation and ward off malevolent influences, raising our soul and preserving us in faith, in Christ Jesus. Amen
