For anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. – Hebrews 4:10

Heavenly Father, we are immensely grateful to you, for establishing us in a well-ordered creation, a world ordained for us, which is incredible and remarkable for the works of your Hands. We hold fast to our faith, belief and works of obedience, aware that in your incomprehensible love and mercy, you make our lives new, great, and glorious, every single morning, of every single day. You have offered those who have completed their tasks responsibly and in obedience to your Holy Plan, the blessings to enter into the “rest” you have given them. For every true believer who has complete possession of your rest, where you are absolutely satisfied with the works of their hands and grant them bliss, rests in your love, of which the sabbath is made up of.

We keep your Sabbath Day Holy, just as you have commissioned, to give glory to your creation which you established in seven days. Your Sabbath rest is to your people, who acknowledge your and magnify your Holy Name and Holy Will. Lord, you rested from your work of creation on the seventh day and made it holy and every true Christian, who has ceased from all sinful works, labours, anxieties, and sufferings of any kind, resting from them perpetually, having completed all works of evangelical obedience, for your Glory, through them.

Just as Jesus has entered into his rest, completing his commission on earth, to reign and to rest with divine tranquillity in your Heavenly Kingdom, assuredly, we shall possess the same rest, if only we hold fast to him, and after cessation from the commission of our calling. We will gain rest in our respective sabbaths, by performing in integrity our service here on earth, treading in Jesus’ steps in doing, serving, suffering, and obtaining rest, following their completion. We pray that as Christ has gone into his rest, we too, after our labour, will enter into the same rest, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
