Isaiah 40:8

8 November, 2021

The grass withers, the flower fades. But the word of our God stands forever. – Isaiah 40:8

Lord God, you are our Holy, Almighty, Immortal God, Unshakable, Infallible and Righteous in nature. We plead with you to look at us with your deep compassion and mercy, for we are but frail, earthly mortals. You have created us and you hold our lives in the palm of your hand. All flesh is like grass, and the life of man as the flower growing, blooming in youth, and slowly withering and dying, arising no more.

Our soul is immortal and needs care and nurturing to be holy and fruitful in the richness of your Holy Will, so that it is rooted in the everlasting kingdom of your Glory and Majesty. We can only be comforted by the faith which, uniting us with Christ, enables our renewal each day. Your Word, dear God, stands forever and your kingdom is eternal. Our faith becomes more deep rooted as we believe in your powerful promises, for our protection, providence and salvation.

We live, obediently relying on your Word, as it lives and breathes through the Power of the Holy Spirit, and regenerates our hearts and our lives. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, the Inspirer of all truth, the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, who is our Mediator and who has reconciled us with you for all time. He has  restored our minds to be in communion with you, Abba Father, we wait to behold your face, in Christ our Lord we pray. Amen
