Isaiah 42: 1

25 February, 2021

“Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him, and he will bring justice to the nations.” Isaiah 42:1

Lord God of hosts, all the heavens and the earth, all creation, sings in rich praises of our awesome God, who, in divine wisdom formulated infallible plans for the everlasting working of his wondrous creation. Lord, you even came down as man incarnate, to restore cruel mankind to the perfection in which you had created it.

Our Messiah, in human flesh, with human judgment springing forth from your Holy Spirit, bestowed upon him, offered the ultimate sacrifice by suffering the indignity thrust on him by the hardened hearts and deadened minds of rebellious people you had chosen as your own, who betrayed you for human perversions. Jesus gave us your gospel of truth and your covenant of love. He reconciled all believers in faith, to you, by his death on the cross securing for all those who turned to you, as children to their father, the gift of your saving grace and the status of co-heirs of your kingdom.

He is our Judge, ruling in all our hearts, who will come again to establish your kingdom on earth, who is the head of your church formed on this earth and the cornerstone of its foundation. He is king and high priest, and his dominion will extend to the ends of the earth. We live by trusting in your promises and providence of eternal life for the redeemed whose judgment is according to truth and will apply to unbelievers too, who, converted by it, become subject to spiritual rule and governance, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
