Isaiah 62: 11

3 January, 2021

The Lord has made proclamation to the ends of the earth: “Say to Daughter Zion, ‘See, your Savior comes! See, his reward is with him, and his recompense accompanies him.’” Isaiah 62:11

Lord God, you are glorious in Power and unmatched in Might. We exult in being the chosen of such a magnificent God and are humbled that you have given us the status of citizenship in your kingdom, which is from everlasting to everlasting. No power can stand before you. You are a zealous God and crush the adversaries of your people.

God, you have always interposed and rescued your people. In the glory of your strength you have overthrown and destroyed wicked foes. We are astounded at the fierceness of your great love, which no evil tormentor of your children can prevail against.

When, in the depth of sin and wretchedness, we became captive to the ruler of darkness, you sent into the world your word made incarnate, the light of the world, who by his death, resurrection and ascension emerged victorious against Satan and gained for us, eternal salvation, by our faith and your grace.

Our Lord Jesus Christ came forth to vindicate the cause of your people and to overthrow their oppressors. We await, in faith and hope his second coming, when he will smite the nations which have provoked your wrath, giving victory to the cause of peace, and purity, truth, and righteousness, and shall save all those who believe in him, crushing the powers of darkness. We eagerly anticipate the day when we will rejoice in your presence forevermore, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
