Be patient, then, my brothers, until the Lord comes. See how patient a farmer is as he waits for his land to produce precious crops. He waits patiently for the autumn and spring rains. James 5:7
Heavenly Father, God of mercy and justice, who favors all who patiently await your address of our cause, we trust in your rewards to those who observe your commands and the just punishment for the disobedient and callous. We gratefully acknowledge you as our judge and the keeper of your promises.
Grant us forbearance and restraint to calmly face the challenges of life, depending on your strong arm to assist us and rescue us when we fall prey to persecution by evil oppressors, retaining our faith in you in circumstances of every nature, strengthening our belief that your coming is imminent. Let not the enemy have victory over us
We trust in the ntegrity of your holy word which builds up our confidence and maintains our positivity that the day is nearing when our evil foes will be vanquished and our king, creator and judge will dispense justice among the peoples of all the nations with no exception. Until then, we will cultivate tolerance, display fortitude and distribute largesse even among the unjust, refusing to retaliate and maintaining our equanimity in the face of violation of our peace.
Our incentive to be patient with people and to have the spirit of harmony, not seeking revenge against the wrongdoers, is that we know that a just judge will soon be amongst us and will wield the anvil of justice and judgment. His is a kingdom of peace and his is the second coming, when he will reign forevermore in the person of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen
