John 1: 11-12

12 December, 2020

He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. John 1:11–12

God of Salvation, God of love and compassion, we adore and magnify your glorious name for with you, all things are made possible. We stand unworthy and humbled by the magnitude of your benevolence and clemency, which has elevated us to receive redemption by our God coming on earth as our Messiah, so that we could be reconciled to you forever.

Christ our redeemer, made incarnate by being born of a virgin, only to teach us and reveal to us your promises and covenant and to offer all our sins by becoming the curse and dying for our salvation, freeing us from the tyranny of evil, was the ultimate sacrifice for the glory of your name.

To those who were baptized through faith and the Holy Spirit, he gave the power to become the sons of God; he gave a power, a right, a privilege, not by our merits, but by your singular grace to become your children by adoption. For believers are already your children by faith.

To believe in you is to believe in the revelation and the promises of the gospel. The acceptance of our total nothingness and of the truth of your word, is what is required to remain in your grace and favor. Father, our purpose is to be witnesses of our faith and to be evangelists, propagating the good news of your Kingdom and expanding your dominion over all, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
