The Lord’s unfailing love and mercy still continue, fresh as the morning, as sure as the sunrise. The Lord is all I have, and so in him I put my hope.
Lamentations 3:22–24
Dear Father in heaven, in you is essential goodness and compassion, attributes of absolute perfection. We thank you that whatever happens to us, we can rely on your faithfulness to change and even reverse various situations in our lives, based on our trust in your infallible love. You make good even out of evil and when we go through sorrow, it passes away and is replaced by incredible joy and peace, if our hearts remain true and our faith remains firm in you. We thank you that your goodness and your faithfulness penetrate and heal everything, especially our hearts.
Then we can know and be glad that your Spirit guides us. We can know we are never alone but can receive strength to help us in the struggle and toil of our life. Mercy is your unparalleled love flowing freely from you, Lord, emanating from the ocean of your compassion and pouring out like a deluge, on those who hope in you, crying out in misery, and trusting completely in your power of healing and restoration. It is a blessing that pours out for us, and renews our faith in your Infinite Justice.
Your compassions are renewed day by day, to declare your unfailing faithfulness in fulfilling the many promises made to your people. God, we pray that you remain our portion and so give us comfort in being an essential and constant presence in the lives of your people, thus unifying us in confidence of your providences, and also of expectation of good from you, all the days of our lives, especially in our lowest and meanest state, when we feel like outcasts and cry out to you in our loneliness and helplessness. We labour to serve you through the working of your Spirit, in the Name of Jesus. Amen
