THE 10th OF AUGUST
BY FAITH AND OBEDIENCE TO THE LORD, WE RECEIVE HIS LIGHT
“Who among you fears the Lord? Who obeys the voice of His Servant? Who walks in darkness and has no light? Let him trust in the name of the Lord and rely upon his God.” – Isaiah 50:10
The entire 50th chapter of Isaiah prophesies about Jesus, the coming Messiah. For those of us who have already embraced the Light of Jesus, this verse is more comprehensible than it was for the Jews in Isaiah’s time. This message is directed toward those who reverently “fear the Lord” and “obey the voice of His Servant.”
Jesus is the most perfect Servant of the Lord, and due to His complete obedience, God granted Him all authority in heaven and on earth. He is the light of the world, and only those who accept Him as Lord and Savior can truly receive His light. Without following Jesus’ guidance, one walks in darkness and deep trouble, unable to have His light shine in their heart.
We are encouraged to trust and rely on God, placing our confidence in the Name of our Lord, so that we may lean on Him and be supported by His strength.
SUGGESTED PRAYER
Thank You, Lord, for the support and strength I find in You. I praise You, Lord, for continuously showing me how much You love me and for the strength I receive from You. I am always victorious in You, and Your light brings clarity and peace to my daily walk with You. Please help me to always hear and obey Your voice, dear Jesus, and to follow all Your instructions. Thank You for all You do for me, with all my heart. Amen
