MONTHLY DEVOTIONAL FOR 28 OCTOBER

THE 28th OF OCTOBER

LET US REMEMBER THAT THROUGH JESUS, WE ARE DEAD TO SIN.

“For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.” – Romans 6:10-12

Glory to Jesus Christ our Lord! His sacrifice was sufficient to pay for all sins—past, present, and future. Our Savior has completed His work for our salvation. Once we truly understand that we are forgiven, we must embrace our identity in Christ: dead to sin and alive to God. Our lives should reflect this by living for Him, not for sin. We must choose how we use our bodies and souls.

If we persist in sin, we serve the devil; but by living according to God’s guidance and biblical principles, we serve God and honor His holy name. It is our responsibility to continually choose righteousness and bear the fruit of a godly life. We must resist temptation, asking the Holy Spirit to help us stand firm against sin. God won’t force us to make the right choices, so we are called to “not let sin reign in our mortal bodies.” When we follow our fleshly desires, we let sin become our lord instead of Jesus.

SUGGESTED PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your Son to die for all sins, once and for all. Because Jesus took my place, I can live for You and receive the spiritual blessings You have prepared in the heavenly places. Help me always to remember that in Jesus, I am dead to sin and alive to You. Guide me away from fleshly desires and temptations, so sin does not become my lord. Glory and honor be to Your holy name, Lord Jesus, for all eternity. Amen
